Substance Use Prevention: What Parents Should Know

Substance Use Prevention: What Parents Should Know

Alcohol remains the drug of choice for most teens and too many young people are experiencing consequences from drinking at a young age. This class looks at why some teens experiment with alcohol, what parents need to know to keep their teens safe, and examines the impact that marketing and the media have on underage drinking. Research shows that teens are much more likely to delay drinking when they have a trusting and supportive relationship with a parent or guardian. This class will give parents tips for developing these healthy relationships.
