History
Empowering youth for a bright future
Teen Health Connection started seeing patients in a small building on Elizabeth Avenue on February 25,1992. There were a growing number of Mecklenburg County teens who did not receive routine healthcare, and there was some concern that some teens were engaging in risky behaviors.
For All and For Teens
Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is anchored in our vision to empower adolescents to be healthy, safe, and successful.
At Teen Health Connection, we respect the value that diverse life experiences bring to our board, teammates, and the communities we serve. We listen to and embrace the value of all views. Leveraging our connections with teammates, patients, and our community we will continue to build an inclusive culture and will commit to the following:
- We will strive to see diversity, inclusion, and equity in connection with our vision and mission for the benefit of the patients and communities we serve.
- We will promote a workforce that represents the diversity of our patients, families, and communities and curate an environment where people feel a sense of belonging and accomplishment at all levels of the organization.
- We aim to recognize and address inequities in our programs, services, and policies.
- We will dedicate our time and resources to expanding greater diversity within our board and leadership positions, and how we partner with others and conduct business.
- We commit to leading with respect, inclusion, and acceptance, and we encourage all to demonstrate this in their work within our organization.
